Scouting History |
The Boy Scouts of America has been around for 103 years, 11 months, and 18 days. In that time, millions and millions of Americans have enjoyed themselves in the pursuit of fun in the outdoors. There are also a ton of fun photos from throughout the years. Each issue of the Proclamation will now end with a historical Scouting photo or item.
In 1964, the Boy Scouts held a Scout Fair in Lansing. Cub Scout Harry Snowden is pictured below selling the first ticket to the Scout Fair to Governor George W. Romney. The photo was published in the State Journal as a promotion for the Fair. |

If you have read this far- Dan would like to remind you that the Kazoo (as we know it) is 102 years old this year. I have more than 30 Scout Kazoos in my desk drawer next to a jar of peanut butter. This is important because January 28 is (unofficially) National Kazoo Day! Kaaa-zooooo it up all day! As always, if you have any feedback or thoughts on future issues of the President Ford Proclamation, please contact Dan Soszynski. |
