Moment of Silence

Please keep the Nietling family in your thoughts and prayers.

From Eric Nietling-

My Scouting Brothers... an Eagle Scout (2010) has fallen. My son, Taylor Nietling, yesterday succumbed to injuries sustained in a November 25 auto accident.

If you knew Taylor personally, then you know his smile always brightened your day. He was challenged his whole life by his autism, but he always surprised us with his intelligence, wit, helpfulness, willingness to put others before himself and most of all, a friend to everyone. He was the epitome of what Scouting is all about... Wimachtendienk, Wingolauchsik, Witahemui.

Taylor's Obituary can be found hereExternal Link

Scouting History

The Boy Scouts of America has been around for 103 years, 10 months, and 0 days. In that time, millions and millions of Americans have enjoyed themselves in the pursuit of fun in the outdoors. There are also a ton of fun photos from throughout the years. Each issue of the Proclamation will now end with a historical Scouting photo.

In the Grand Rapids office there is a massive 18 x 30 inch draft of a Nacha Tindey Lodge Flap. In the bottom corner it lists the original colors - bottle green, lemon gold, orange, park blue, 103 brown, red, and black 100.

If you have read this far- please join Dan in making (or purchasing) a Christmas Card in honor of Sir Henry Cole and Christmas Card Day. Cole invented the first Christmas Card in 1843. As always, if you have any feedback or thoughts on future issues of the President Ford Proclamation, please contact Dan Soszynski.
