Spring Campout

It’s Spring Campout Time!
Saturday, May 12th
Goose Lake Campground

1:00      Arrive/Set up camp
2:00   Conservation Project
4:00                           Hike
6:00                       Dinner
8:00       Campfire Activity
(All times approximate, obviously!)

Everyone is welcome to come for the day/evening,
even if you are not going to spend the night.

Please bring a snack item that we can all share to make a trail mix (pretzels, dried fruit, nuts, goldfish crackers, etc.).  The pack provides hot dogs and drinks for dinner, s’mores for campfire, and pancakes for breakfast.

All scouts must bring their own camping gear.  If you do not have any, please tell your leader – we may know of some that you can borrow.  We have some fishing equipment, but if you have your own you could bring that as well.  Also, please let your leader know if you intend to come so we can plan food and so we know who to call if we have to cancel.

We want the boys to progress toward camping independently.  Therefore, depending on the age of the scout, he should be responsible for packing for the trip, setting up your tent, and preparing/cooking/cleaning up food.   Please look at your scout’s handbook before you come since the scouts will be completing a variety of outdoor activities in order to complete achievements.

Directions: From Lake City McDonalds go north a couple hundred feet and turn left on W Broadway (at the Lakeside Market).  Drive about ½ mile and turn right at the stop sign onto Al Moses Road.  Drive about ½ mile and take a left onto Goose Lake Road.  Take a right at the Y and go past the deer pens.  Take a left into the entrance to the campground.   (If you miss the last left and go straight, you will end up in Skip’s garage!)

Word to the wise:
This is a lake and your son will be in it.  Bring extra clothes and shoes/boots!

All scouts must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who takes full responsibility for the scout’s transportation and supervision. The Pack and individual den leaders will not be responsible for the safety of the scouts.
